I’ll admit, when I first started out, I had no idea how to play poker fast. I’d sit there for minutes trying to figure out whether to fold or raise, and by the time I made a decision, it was always the wrong one. One time, I was so caught up in deciding whether to fold my straight draw that I didn’t notice the guy next to me already had a full house. I went all-in, and that was it. Lesson learned: pay attention to the board, not just your hand.
